Job Summary:
The Receptionist is expected to have the switchboard open and operating promptly at 9:00 am and throughout the day until 6 p.m. Relief switchboard coverage will be provided for a one-hour lunch, as well as morning and afternoon breaks of 10 minutes each. The Receptionist should work with relief coverage to determine appropriate times for lunch and breaks.

Responsibilities :
- Professionally administers all incoming calls.
- Ensures phone calls are directed accordingly.
- Screens all sales calls and solicitors.
- Greets guests in a professional, friendly, hospitable manner.
- Types memos, correspondence, reports, and other documents, as necessary.
- Coordinates catering for In-service and conference luncheons.
- Makes reminder calls to all employees the day before case conferences and/or staff meetings.
- Sorts and delivers daily mail received.
- Assists with tracking all clinicians’ notes.
- Prepares orders to be hand carried to MD office.
- Transcribes RN/PT Physician’s Orders with accurate interpretation of medical terminology into Visitrak and produces printed MD orders for mailing.
- Mails MD orders daily using the reception mail merge addressing system.
- Receives and logs all MD orders daily.
- Sorts MD orders for filing.
- Tracks and follows-up on all MD orders that have not been signed and returned weekly.
- Maintains and edits reception mail merge addressing system on a daily basis.
- Places all orders for documentation, printed goods, and marketing supply.
- Places all office and medical supply orders.
- Monitors and discourages supply misuse by clinicians and employees.
- Obtain ICD 9 codes for those labs requiring this information in order to prevent the patient from receiving a bill from the lab.
- Updates ICD-9 Code information as necessary for Labcorp billing.
- Performs such other duties as assigned.
