CERTIFIED OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Qualifications :

  • Graduate of an occupational therapy school accredited by the Council of Medical Education of the AMA in collaboration with the American Association of Occupational Therapists and/or by the State Department of Education in the specific state where employed.
  • Registered by the Occupational Therapist Association and licensed in the state of practice if the state has registered practices.
  • Has at least one (1) year appropriate experience as an OT.
  • Possesses and maintains good physical stamina and mental health. Presents a pre-employment physician’s health clearance, including negative TB skin tests and/or CXR and other tests as required by specific state statute.
  • Has the ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
  • Is self-directing and has the ability to work with little direct supervision.
  • Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
  • Is flexible and cooperative in fulfilling the role obligations.
  • Demonstrates tact, patience, and good personal hygiene.
  • Is a licensed driver and has an automobile that is insured in accordance with Lorian Home Systems, Inc. of Las Vegas (LORIAN) requirements.
  • Must be able to verbally communicate in the language of the client and document all client related activity practices.

Responsibilities :

  • Providing treatment as ordered by the attending physician, dentist, or podiatrist.
  • Assisting in developing and updating the plan of treatment.
  • Assisting the physician in evaluating level of function.
  • Observing, recording, and reporting information on the patient’s condition to the attending physician and in the patient’s record.
  • Advising, consulting, and when appropriate, instructing family and other LORIAN personnel on patient’s therapy program.
  • Teaching and supervising other health personnel when appropriate.
  • Evaluating the home environment and making appropriate recommendations.
  • Participating in in-service education programs.
  • Completes, maintains, and submits accurate and relevant clinical notes regarding patients/clients condition and care given in accordance with LORIAN policies and procedures.

Note: Documentation must be accurate, complete, and submitted to LORIAN before visit is deemed acceptable and payable to therapist.
